Ko Phi Phi is an archipelago of six tropical islands dropped like pearls in the turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea, south of Phuket. Only Ko Phi Phi Don, the largest, is inhabited and it is there that you will find this exclusive resort. Ferries from the mainland put it at Ban Ton Sai, the islands’ only significant settlement, from where it is a short boat ride around the coast to your destination (there are no roads or motorised vehicles on the islands).
The resort occupies the entire 800-m (2,625-ft) length of Loh Ba Gao Bay on the east coast of Ko Phi Phi Don. The stunning white sands are effectively the resort’s private beach and one of the country’s very finest. The bungalows and villas lie just back from the shoreline, tucked discreetly away beneath gently swaying coconut palms and ensconced in tropical gardens. Wood and thatch are the predominant building materials in the guest accommodation but these are combined with all the mod cons you would expect, including air conditioning. You can choose between a beach-front bungalow or one of the large open-plan villas on the hillside, which come complete with private infinity pool and outdoor jacuzzi.
Sheer limestone cliffs and dense forests are defining features of these tropical islands but they tell only half the story. Beneath the waterline is a whole new world of delights which await your exploration. The islands are surrounding by coral fringing the shallows of the beaches themselves.
