My tenure here in China is almost at an end and I am working on wrapping everything up before I move back home.
My company recently got a visa company to help “cancel” my residence permit and replace it with a 0-entry temporary visa. It would appear that this process involves me giving them my passport for a week or so and them voiding the residence permit.
My question is… do I really need to do this? I leave June 28th and my residence permit expires on July 1st. If I just blow this off- are there any negative effects? I do need to occasionally come back to China for business (I will apply for a business visa once I get back)- but with me not canceling the permit will I get into trouble or get stopped when I try to apply for the business visa?
