I am a British national who has recently resigned from his job here. I am now looking at my tax situation and want to understand whether or not I have to pay tax here or not, and if I do, whether I am responsible for remitting it to the authorities or whether my employer is?
I’m not convinced that my company will pay the tax and am asking for them to pay it to me so that I can file it from the UK as I can’t access my accounts in China from the UK). Does anyone know if I am within my rights to do this?
Any help or information you could give would be much appreciated. I am paid 20,000 RMB per month and have an additional allowance of 6000 RMB
